Progress Diary

Some people may not notice the help they get from DETROL LA right away. It can take time to recognize that overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms have gotten better. Remember, small steps mean progress. Keeping a Progress Diary is an easy way to help you and your doctor keep track of:

  • How OAB affects you week to week
  • How your OAB symptoms change over time
  • How medicine, pelvic floor muscle exercises (Kegels), retraining your bladder, or changing your diet or behavior may be helping

You'll see:

  • How much you drink
  • How often you go to the bathroom
  • The amount of urine passed each time you go
  • What you ate or drank prior to any accidents

Print the Progress Diary

  • Week 1: Start now by filling out one page each day for 3 days. Keep your diary with you at all times and write down all events as they happen. Try to follow the bladder retraining tips.
  • Week 4: At the end of 1 month, record another 3 days. Have you changed the amount or type of fluid you drink? Are you avoiding foods that may irritate your bladder such as chocolate or spicy foods?
  • Week 8: Record 3 more days after 8 weeks. Then compare your results.
  • Week 12: Record 3 more days after 12 weeks. Compare your results and see the difference that taking control of your OAB is making in your life.

DETROL® LA (tolterodine tartrate extended release capsules) treats the symptoms of overactive bladder (leaks, strong sudden urges to go, going too often).
